GOMA Waterford is delighted to invite you to the opening of ๐๐๐ง๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฆ, 2 April, 6โ8pm ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฆ is an exploration of contemporary spirituality through personal, non-institutional forms of belief and ritual. Moving away from traditional religious structures, the featured works draw on pre-Christian practices, folklore, and reimagined religious symbols to address contemporary environmental, political, and existential uncertainties.

About the curators:
๐๐๐ง๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ฆ has been conceived and curated by Anna Jeznach and Ciara Magee, the 2026 recipients of ๐๐ข๐ ๐ ๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ'๐ ๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ.
๐๐ป๐ป๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ต is a Dublin-based curator working in the Collections Department at IMMA, whose practice focuses on performance art, nature, and personal ritual.
๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ๐ฒ is a visual arts producer and curator, co-director of Basic Space, whose research examines Pagan and Druid traditions through landscape, folklore, and cultural heritage.

About the artists:
๐ฆ๐ฎ๐บ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฑ creates immersive, contemplative environments functioning as contemporary shrines, drawing on Catholic mysticism, folk Christian practices, and religious iconography.
๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ป ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฐ ๐ง๐ถ๐ผ๐บรก๐ถ๐ป works in sculpture with ancient bog oak, reinterpreting Irish folklore and megalithic forms such as stone circles.
๐ฅรณ๐ปรก๐ป ร ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ด๐ต๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฎ๐ถ๐ด๐ต works across painting, writing, and performance, developing decolonial relationships with folklore, land, and language, drawing on ritual and animism.
๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐ค๐๐ถ๐ป๐ป works across oil painting, performance, and film, harnessing mythological narratives and symbolism to reimagine identity and womanhood.
๐ญ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ฎ ๐ฅ๐ผ๐บ๐ฎล๐๐ธ๐ฎ works across painting, drawing, video, and poetry, constructing a personal cosmogony that weaves together archetypal imagery and mythological narratives.
๐ ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ๐ป ๐ญ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ works with painting and sculptural materials, exploring the body, violence, sexuality, and transformation as tools for redefining the modern human.
