Let’s celebrate and connect as a Black community! Join the NAACP this September for an uplifting and inspiring day outdoors. Our community hike is more than just a walk—it’s a chance to unite, share experiences, and celebrate what it means to be Black in San Mateo County.

This hike offers a safe and welcoming space for you to meet fellow Black folks living and working in the area, while enjoying the beauty of our local trails. Together, we’ll engage in meaningful conversations, build stronger bonds, and uplift one another as we journey through this beautiful landscape.

Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just starting out, everyone is welcome! The hike is designed to be inclusive and accessible, providing the perfect opportunity to relax, recharge, and deepen connections within our community.

Let’s step forward together—celebrating our strength, our stories, and our shared journey.

What to Expect:

• : Enjoy a leisurely hike through one of San Mateo’s most beautiful natural spots.
• Community Building: Engage with fellow NAACP members and supporters, sharing stories and experiences along the way.
• Inspiration & Solidarity: Use this time to reflect on our shared mission of justice and equality, and how we can continue to uplift our community.

What to Bring:

• Comfortable walking shoes
• Water and snacks
• A jacket (it might be foggy!) 
• Sunscreen and a hat
• A positive attitude and a readiness to connect!
