Welcome to the new era of Hyper Strength & Conditioning in San Jose Japantown! We’ve leveled up our facility, doubled our equipment, and we are throwing down on Saturday, May 16th to help you establish your baseline for the massive 3-day HYROX Anaheim race this December.
Whether you are aiming for a Pro podium, teaming up with a friend for Doubles, or tackling your very first Halfrox, this is your ultimate race-day test. No guesswork, no treadmill shortcuts—just official standards, head-to-head racing, and the best community in the Bay Area.
🔥 WHAT’S NEW IN JAPANTOWN?
- Head-to-Head Racing (With Zero Bottlenecks): We are running strict 2-lane, head-to-head heats so you can race side-by-side with your competition. Because our new space boasts double the equipment (4 Rowers, 4 SkiErgs, 2 Official HYROX Sleds, and 2 Torque Tanks), transitions are lightning-fast and waiting in line for a machine is a thing of the past.
- The Japantown Loop: Our new outdoor running course hits the pavement right outside our doors.
- The "Stairway to Hell": Our facility features a single flight of stairs bridging the gym floor to the outdoor run. It will test your legs, your lungs, and your transitions. (Safety note: Stairs are a strict speed-walk zone!)
📅 THE SATURDAY SCHEDULE (May 16th)
MORNING (8:00 AM - 11:30 AM): The Full Simulation (Singles)
- Format: 8km Run + 8 Full Stations (Ski, Sled Push, Sled Pull, Burpee Broad Jumps, Row, Farmers Carry, Lunges, Wall Balls).
- Who it’s for: Athletes looking for a verified benchmark time before they start their summer Anaheim prep.
MIDDAY (11:30 AM - 1:30 PM): Doubles Teams
- Format: 8km Run (Together) + 8 Full Stations (Split the work).
- Who it’s for: Grab a partner, split the reps, and go fast. Highest energy of the day!
AFTERNOON (2:00 PM - 4:30 PM): The Halfrox Sprint
- Format: 4km Run + 8 Stations (Half the reps/weights).
- Who it’s for: First-timers getting a taste of the race, or veterans looking for a vicious, high-intensity speed workout.
🎟️ DIVISIONS & STANDARDS
- OPEN: Standard HYROX weights.
- PRO: Heavy sleds, heavy wall balls (Full Sim only).
- SCALED / HALFROX: Modified weights utilizing our Torque Tanks for smooth, adjustable resistance.
HOW WE RUN IT: To keep the floor moving safely, we utilize Head-to-Head "Waterfall Starts" (launching 2 athletes every 3 minutes). You will select your preferred time block at checkout, and we will email your exact heat launch time the Wednesday before the event.
