About this Event
Since its founding in 1870, the San Francisco Law Library has provided free public
access to the legal research tools and materials that attorneys use every day. This
program introduces participants to the Law Library’s extensive print collection and suite
of legal databases so they can research their rights, navigate legal questions with
confidence, and connect with the expertise of approachable Reference Librarians who
can guide them to trustworthy answers and community resources. Plus, not only does
the SFLL’s collection have practical materials like sample contracts and court motions,
but also historical treasures and rare books. Attendees will gain practical knowledge,
free tools, and greater confidence with handling legal issues—empowering you to make
informed decisions and access justice more effectively.
Andrea Woods is the Assistant Director of the San Francisco Law Library. She served
the Law Library as a Reference Librarian for 15 years and earned her Juris Doctor from
the University of San Francisco School of Law. She is a member of the California State
Bar, the Northern California Association for Law Libraries, and the American Association
of Law Libraries.
