About this Event
This is NOT your typical Fisherman's Wharf walking tour.
This immersive experience is meant to highlight local secrets while incorporating historic landmarks and leave you with the knowledge of someone with a year of City living under their belt.
We'll begin at Alamo Square Park, made famous by the Painted Ladies in the intro to Full House. We'll talk about the historic significance of this park as the halfway point on the horseback trail between the Presidio and Mission Dolores.
We'll also visit the William Westerfeld House that was built by a German confectioner for his ten kids- where Anton LaVey, founder of the Church of Satan, later lived as well.
After exploring Alamo Square, we'll hop on the bus to the Mission District- the neighborhood in San Francisco with the highest concentration of murals- over 500 and counting!
We'll check out the oldest building in San Francisco before basking in the breath-taking beauty of Dolores Park. This is a great stop for a break with a skyline to die for.
Architecture, incredible food, amazing culture- there's something for everyone on this tour!
After we leave Dolores Park, we'll walk up to the Castro, the oldest gayhorhood in the United States. The Castro was put on the map when Harvey Milk was elected as the neighborhood's Supervisor- the first openly gay elected official in North America. We'll visit his former camera shop and campaign headquarters before paying our respects at the Pink Triangle Memorial and learning about the different colors of the iconic Rainbow Flag.
Your feet may be a bit tired, but I PROMISE you I will show you San Francisco unlike ANYONE else can!
We'll end just in time to grab a drink at one of the many amazing spots in the Castro- don't worry, I'll point them all out!
