Award-winning singer, Annemarie Ballinger has been delighting audiences for years with her elegant, playful style and fresh interpretations of the Great American Songbook. Featuring songs from her recently completed CD, Gershwin and Friends, the evening will also include more American and Latin jazz standards from the 1920's through the 1960's. Denny Berthiaume has been performing for decades, but every set is somehow fresh and new.“Whether I’m playing a medley from ‘Phantom of the Opera’ or a Wayne Shorter number or one of my own compositions,” says Berthiaume, who is based in San Francisco, “I’m always trying to leave myself open to discover something new about the tune — that ah-ha phenomenon.”Berthiaume is known for his past work as co-leader of the jazz fusion group Solar Plexus, as well as for his many solo recordings. KQED’s “Focus” magazine called him “one of the 10 best pianists in the Bay Area.” Berthiaume, whose father was a professional harmonica player, has devoted himself full-time to his lifelong passion — music.
CHUCK BENNETT, acoustic bass, has toured with Louis Bellson, the Beach Boys, and Maynard Ferguson. In California, he played with Tom Scott and Art Pepper. He has extensive recording experience in Los Angeles and San Francisco for films, commercials, live theatre, and live radio.
