We are excited to welcome keynote speaker, Fredrika Newton. Fredrika Newton is the co-founder of the Dr. Huey P. Newton Foundation and the Black Panther Party Museum in Oakland. A former rank and file member of the Black Panther Party, Fredrika is also the widow of its co-founder Dr. Huey P. Newton. For 30 years, the Foundation has worked to preserve and promote the accurate legacy and ideals of the Black Panther Party. Under her leadership, the foundation commissions public art and creates educational tools to produce real social, economic and political change. In 2024, she co-founded The Black Panther Party Museum in downtown Oakland, featuring a variety of exhibitions designed to educate the public about the Party.
