About this Event

SATURDAY 30th OCTOBER & SATURDAY 6th NOVEMBER

This event is ideal for those considering applying to our BSc (Hons) Marine Science programme, for 2022 intake and beyond.

Are you ready to sea the world differently and get inspired for a career in marine science?

Visit the #UniversityOnTheBeach! Sign up for a tour of the teaching facilities at the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) where you can study a BSc (Hons) in Marine Science on a University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) programme.

Our campus tours, led by students, student support staff and programme leaders, are a great opportunity to explore our campus and its student facilities and get a real feel for what it’s like to study marine science at SAMS UHI. Check out our teaching labs, lecture rooms, canteen, our seaview balcony and more. Learn from our tour guides what joining our programme could mean for your future and the future of our oceans.

Why not make a day or a weekend of it! SAMS' Ocean Explorer Centre (on-site) will also be open to visitors too where you can find out more about SAMS' mission to work for healthy oceans and the vital marine science research work we do. Visit Dunstaffnage Castle and find a hidden ruin chapel in the woods. Take a walk around the Dunstaffnage headland and discover stunning pebble beach coves and see what marine life you can find on our rocky shores.

SAMS UHI is one of the top places in the world to study marine science. This year we celebrate a 100% student satisfaction score in the 2021 National Student Survey. UHI was also 1st in Scotland and 3rd in the UK for earth and marine sciences subjects in the #GuardianUniversityGuide 2022.

COVID-19: Pre-booking visitors only. Spaces are limited on this event. Tour groups will be small and tours will run in compliance with COVID-19 health and safety regulations. Pre-booked visitors will be sent advice before the event.
