Please join us in celebrating our 2024 Graduating Class!

The SAME NoVA and DC Posts continue to participate in the Leadership & Mentoring Program. Under the guidance of Ed Chamberlayne, SMSgt Brad Wilson, Bree Beal, Justin Jacobs, and Philios Angelides, they have organized monthly sessions highlighting leadership lessons learned from SAME Fellows and other senior leaders from the A/E/C industry.

It is our distinct honor to invite our SAME Members, and their guests, to attend this graduation dinner to congratulate our graduating class and to continue support to this program into 2025!

Closest Metro Station

  • Red Line - Friendship Heights (about a 5 minute walk), proceed up two escalators and turn right into the Chevy Chase Pavilion doors. Go up one flight of stairs and exit near the Cheesecake Factory onto Wisconsin Avenue. Maggiano's is on the left hand side.

Parking

There is a parking garage under the building with discounted parking (approximately $1/hour) for up to four hours after 5:00 pm with validation from Maggiano's Host Stand on the 1st Floor. No discount applies after 4 hours ($14/car up to 12 hour).

Valet service starts at 5:00 pm for approximately $12/car plus tip.

Directions

From Northern Virginia (Reagan National Airport)
Take I-495 North to the River Road exit. Follow River Road to Western Avenue (approx. 5 miles). Turn Left. Follow Western to Jenifer Street. Turn Right. Follow Jenifer to Wisconsin Avenue. Turn Left. Maggiano’s is on the right, across from Mazza Gallerie.

From Rt. 270 or Rockville
Take I-270 South, stay left at the split towards Baltimore/I-495East. Left lane becomes Wisconsin Ave exit/Bethesda Follow Wisconsin Avenue through Bethesda (approx. 6 miles). Maggiano’s is located on the left, across from Mazza Gallerie in the Chevy Chase Pavilion

From Baltimore or Silver Spring
Take I-95 to I-495 West to exit 34/ Wisconsin Avenue towards Bethesda. Follow Wisconsin Avenue through Bethesda (approx. 6 miles). Maggiano’s is on the left in the Chevy Chase Pavilion.

Operations Officer
NAVFAC Washington

Captain Atiim Senthill, PE, is an accomplished professional engineer, acquisition expert, and servant leader with over 20 years of distinguished service within the U.S. Navy. Currently serving as the Operations Officer at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Washington, he has a comprehensive background in facilities management, encompassing planning, programming, design, construction, and sustainment on a global scale. Previously, as Commanding Officer of Amphibious Construction Battalion TWO, he led a team through a notable decommissioning ceremony after 80 years of operational excellence. His past roles also include Director of Facilities for the Naval Information Warfare Enterprise and leadership positions in the Pacific and special warfare commands. Known for his ability to build high-performing teams, Captain Senthill is a strategic communicator who fosters collaboration, delivering results that align mission objectives with stakeholder interests.


Former Executive Director of SAME National
Founder of the SAME DC/NoVA Leadership and Mentoring Program

The Vision of the Leadership and Mentoring Program began in 2013 under the direction of Bob Wolff, PhD, F.SAME, F.ASCE, former executive director of SAME National, and has grown over the last decade to develop leadership skills and professional growth of our local SAME Post's young professionals. He is a former SAME National Executive Director from 2002 to 2014. Bob Wolff is a seasoned military engineer and logistics leader with extensive experience from his tenure in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. His career highlights include directing logistics plans and integration at the Pentagon, overseeing strategic policy for agile combat support, and guiding programs for over 70 Air Force bases. As Chief of the Engineering Division at the Baltimore District, he managed a $1 billion military and environmental project portfolio. His leadership in facilities engineering has shaped key tools like PAVER, ROOFER, and BUILDER, which remain vital for DOD facility management. Bob retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Army Reserve, leaving a legacy of innovation in defense infrastructure.
