About the Film: “If you were to make a film on your family, what would you make it about?” This amateur homemade documentary follows the filmmaker’s family in their day-to-day existence. Lubnah carefully prompts questions into their pasts to explore the intergenerational impact of her parent’s stigmatized marriage. Documented over a year, between Rajasthan and the UAE, this film attempts to hold the weight of the unsaid.
About the Filmmaker: Lubnah Ansari is an artist and researcher who explores exercises of silences, intimacies, and agencies in India and the Gulf.
ABOUT THE KRITI FILM CLUB: This is an educational initiative of a not-for-profit organisation 'Kriti team'. We curate, screen and share documentary films on development, environment, and socially relevant issues, in an effort to positively influence mindsets and behaviour towards creating an equitous, just, and peaceful world. We also curate issue-based film festivals and organise documentary film shows in neighbourhoods, communities, schools, colleges, or institutions on request and otherwise. The Kriti Film Club has been screening documentaries regularly and independently (without any funding) in Delhi NCR since 2000 and in Mumbai since 2019, and online (Doculive.blogspot.com) since 2020, to promote 'thought-provoking cinema' #impactcinema
