Join us on Saturday Oct 11th to explore patience in our own dancing and patience in partnering. Join us for a 2.5 hour special workshop hosted by Sam and Robert
Sam and Robert Explore is a recurring workshop concept where we take you on a deep dive through a topic we are passionate about — giving you a glimpse into how we think and interpret this dance, both individually and within our partnership.
Our goal is to create a space where you are encouraged to ask questions, talk through your ideas, and discover your own identity in this dance.
The topic for this workshop is: Patience
Patience is one of the most powerful skills we can develop as dancers. Slowing down enough to feel our own weight transfers, finish our movements fully, and staying present in the music gives us freedom — and space for our partners to contribute to the dance.
We will be exploring what it means to have patience both in our own bodes and with our partners. Together, we’ll break down how to create dances that breathe, feel calmer, and have a greater sense of timing and connection.
What you can expect during this 2.5-hour workshop:
Solo and partnered movement drills & exercises to explore slowing down and waiting for the “right” moment
Discussion and Q&A on how patience transforms timing, connection, and musicality
Applying the concepts to our WCS patterns
Additional open practice at the end to apply the skills socially
Please come with:
An understanding of your 6- and 8-count basics
A base understanding of frame and connection
An open mind to slow down and explore
You do not need a partner for this workshop — we will be rotating.
