Peeni Walli are coming back to Salo ground with another edition of irregular residential event series Ram Dance Bashment on Saturday, April 25, this time supporting local heroes 1Marcus & Major P, who have been involved in organizing one of the former hottest reggae/dancehall party in town called Burnin and are constantly bringing uplifting and fresh selection full of dancehall, hip hop and afrobeats to the floors around the city.
Major P (waddup sound) is also a respected sound engineer, and his little studio in Nusle district had the opportunity to host multiple dubplate recordings (for PW as well) and even afrobeats/dancehall/r'n'b song recordings as well.
Major P is also active on his instagram channel with his notorious short mixes of a broad spectrum of genres, and in addition to producing songs for his friends and acquaintances, he also releases his own music, most recently Majority Report, which he launched late last year. 1Marcus is around on the scene from the late 10s, first as a member of the Soundproof family, then joining Jah Atom sound. In addition to his precise DJ skills, he also handled the graphic design for the Burnin event and other events. 1Marcus is always looking for the freshest sound from Jamaica and all over the world.
This Ram Dance Bashment will be special for one more reason. We’ll review and play the best Czech and Slovak versions released on the WYFL riddim, a call Peeni Walli issued in Ram Dance Radio Show late February in response to the global WYFL challenge craze. We’ve received some great tracks, which we’re thrilled about, and we’ll also take a quick tour of the global—and especially Jamaican—WYFL riddim versions.
