SALAM-ARTIST PERFORMANCEEgypt is one of the great civilizations that has left its mark on more than 5,000 years of history – a heritage as rich as it is diverse. Egyptian dance and music have endured through the ages to this day, reflected in myths, temple reliefs, and writings, as well as in religious ceremonies and popular festivities. Dance and music were – and still are – present in all the significant moments of life, from birth to death and into the afterlife.
For 30 years, the “tanz-raum company” has immersed itself in this culture: studying it, listening to it, engaging with it, drawing inspiration from it – experiencing and transforming it until it becomes an integral part of its artistic expression.
By grounding themselves in this tradition, Claudia Heinle, Caroline Chevat, and Karin Schemmann allow their individual personalities and inspirations to shape their interpretations.
