About this Event
Good Friday afternoon walk through the blossom of Springfield Park. We will look how to identify Japanese cherries and fruit trees, as well as recording the pollinator species using blossom in the park.
In January 2021 Russell designed and delivered a major planting scheme of 44 cherry blossom trees as part of a national Sakura Cherry Tree Project (following a major Heritage Lottery Fund refurbishment of buildings in Springfield Park). Previously Russell helped create and managed the community orchard in the park and worked to save its old Pear tree.
Russell is a consultant arboriculturalist, entomologist and recently co-founded ReNature London.
