About this Event
Safety in the Field: Best Practices for Home Visits provides social workers, professional counselors and human service professionals with practical strategies for conducting home visits safely and effectively. Participants will learn how to assess potential risks, prepare for visits, and maintain situational awareness while working in community settings. The training will also explore common environmental and behavioral warning signs, communication and de-escalation techniques, and appropriate responses when a situation becomes unsafe. Through discussion and scenario-based learning, participants will gain tools to help protect their personal safety while continuing to provide effective services to clients in home-based environments.
