Description
This Level 2 safeguarding course is essential for all staff working with early years children. It will strengthen your understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and ensure your practice aligns with the EYFS statutory requirements.
The course is delivered by the Early Years Improvement Team in conjunction with the Herefordshire Safeguarding Partnership, providing practical guidance and local context to national legislation.
EYFS Focus:
This training is tailored for early years settings and includes EYFS-specific scenarios, practical examples, and clear links to the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework, helping you embed safeguarding into everyday practice.

Learning Aims
By the end of this course, you will:
✔ Understand your safeguarding responsibilities within an early years setting
✔ Be able to recognise the indicators of abuse and neglect
✔ Know how to effectively record and report safeguarding concerns
✔ Understand multi-agency safeguarding children procedures
✔ Place national legislation into local context
The course also includes a refresher on types and signs of child abuse and relevant legislation.
