The 2024 erase Safe School Coordinator Meeting will continue the work of the erase: Building Safe Schools Strategy. This year’s theme is Inclusive Safety with a focus on building safe and inclusive school communities. Attendees will hear from industry experts about best practices and have the opportunity to connect with safety teams across the province.
The conference will bring together approximately 150 participants (K-12 sector partners including public and independent school representatives). Also included are our ministry partners to support the cross-government commitment to safer schools in B.C.
Conference objectives include:
• Provide insights on current and emerging safety trends;
• Build an understanding of current government strategies, action plans, and guidelines;
• Elevate examples of authentic connection, climate, and culture, which are the building blocks of a safe school community;
• Building and safety promotion in classrooms, school teams, and community across B.C.
• Engage participants in reflective experiences and interactive engagements that anchor learning for practical application in individual, team, and provincial work contexts;
• Build relationships within and across school districts through shared learning; and
• Contribute to the continued development of building safe and caring school communities.
