SAFe for Teams with SP Certification - Online Class

This class will be held over Zoom and includes a break for lunch each day.

Build the skills needed to become a high-performing team member of an Agile Release Train (ART)—and learn how to collaborate effectively with other teams—by becoming a SAFe Practitioner (SP). During this course you’ll gain an understanding of the role of the Agile Team in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) enterprise, taught by an instructor with real world experience as a Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer, Agile Coach, and Scrum Team Member within multiple SAFe and Agile implementations at Intel Corporation and BP. Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of the ART, how it delivers value, and what they can do to effectively perform their role using Scrum, Kanban, and XP.

They will also learn how to write stories and break down features, plan and execute iterations, and plan Program Increments. Finally, they’ll learn about the continuous delivery pipeline and DevOps culture, how to effectively integrate with other teams in the program, and what it takes to continuously improve the train.

To perform the role of a SAFe® Practitioner, attendees should be able to:

• Apply SAFe to scale Lean and Agile development in their enterprise
• Know their team and its role on the Agile Release Train
• Know all other teams on the train, their roles, and the dependencies between the teams
• Plan Iterations
• Execute Iterations and demonstrate value
• Plan Program Increments
• Integrate and work with other teams on the train

The class registration includes:

• PDF copy of course materials
• Exam study guide and two practice exams
• Preparation and eligibility to take the SAFe® Practitioner (SP) exam
• One-year membership to the SAFe Community Platform
• Course certificate of completion. Attendees must attend both days of the course in order to qualify for the exam.
• Eligibility to apply for 15 PDUs to help maintain certifications such as PMP, PgMP
• Eligibility to apply for 15 Scrum Alliance SEUs (Category C) upon completion of the course

She is currently an Agile Coach for BP, an instructor in Agile courses at UC Berkeley, teaches Agile courses for PMI - San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, and is an Agile Coach at her company Sprint Ahead. Darcy previously worked at Intel Corporation as an Agile & Lean Coach where she launched the company's first eight SAFe Agile Release Trains and scaled to thirty agile release trains by the end of her tenure.

She started her company Sprint Ahead where she and her team of instructors have led Lean, Agile, and Scaled Agile transformations, coached over 100 Scrum teams, and provided Agile training across numerous industries including Google, IBM, Mercedes-Benz, Wells Fargo, Chevron, Genentech, State of California, and Kaiser Permanente.

Darcy brings the course material to life with her real-world stories and experiences, having participated in multiple Agile roles including Scrum Team Member, Scrum Master, and RTE.
