Join us for a fireside chat with social service practitioners on what it means to be an Ally and how they have made a difference at work.
About this Event

The LGBTQ+ Support Network is a response to the need for LGBTQ+ affirming care in social services and common spaces for LGBTQ+ Social Work professionals to gather and share. Our objectives include training allies and social service professionals who are keen to learn about LGBTQ+ topics. Safe and Sound Bites is the first informal series of fireside chats to hear from Social Service Practitioners with lived experiences and/or who are currently working with LGBTQ+ clients.

Our speakers will share real stories of building trust, navigating challenges, and fostering resilience.

We’ll discuss:
• Speaker's journey in allyship - challenges, misconceptions and learnings
• Ways allys can make workplace systems and direct practice more queer-friendly

Whether you’re a professional, volunteer, or ally, this session offers valuable insights into building empathy, solidarity, and safer spaces with LGBTQ+ communities!
