We're featuring DSST Elevate, a Denver Public School for this open mic event, which is youth-centered. This open mic is designed for youth to explore their identity, discover the impact of their voices, and gain insight into their perspective on the world. We are featuring a senior from DSST: Elevate. We invite you to come out with your youth and spend a night in poetry!
Our opening act is Elk Song. Wielding raw emotion, a bass guitar, and a groove that moves, Josiah Contreras specializes in Healing Songs. As a lifelong musician and graduate of Berklee College of Music, he has always seen the healing and catharsis that comes from playing songs of love, heartbreak, spiritual empowerment, and joy. With a mix of originals and unique bass/voice arrangements of rock, R&B, folk, and pop, Elk Song invites the audience to feel together and find a bit of healing in the sacred space of music.
Come and share what makes your voice sacred!
