Join Jenny Stafford (resonatesoundhealing.com) for a special evening of restorative yoga with sound healing. The class begins with a gentle yoga practice that uses props to support the body in passive poses to release muscular tension, slow breathing, reduce anxiety, and soothe the nervous system. This practice does not require flexibility, previous knowledge of yoga, or any of the other concerns that might hold you back from giving it a try! There's no effort required—just a willingness to soften, to release, to let the weight of the world slip away for a little while. Experienced yogi’s also benefit from moving and supporting their bodies and minds in a new way.Restorative yoga differs from other forms of yoga, in that the goal of restorative yoga is not to stretch or strengthen muscles, but to tap into the body’s natural resources to establish self-regulation, and homeostasis, or equilibrium and to release tension stored in the muscles, fascia and joints.
After settling into a final supported posture, soothing sound from crystal singing bowls and gong deepen relaxation and promotes physical and emotional wellbeing.
