About this Event
Welcome To The Sacramento Black History Month Expo!
On behalf of Black Expo Events it is with great pleasure and heartfelt gratitude that we reach out to you in preparation for the 37th Annual Sacramento Black History Month Expo. The Expo will take place from February 14, 2025, at different locations across Sacramento, and have the grand finale event which is the Black Expo on February 17, 2025. The unique aspect of the Expo is that by hosting multiple events throughout Sacramento culminating with the Expo at the Convention Center on President's Day we are able to touch a variety of interest, bring additional resources, and have immediate impact over an extended time period.
The significance of President's Day coincides with the very beginnings of Black History Week/Month gives us an opportunity to honor the legacies of Frederick Douglass and the birthday of Abraham Lincoln.
Our agenda is geared towards bringing the opportunities that relate to Black History Month. For 37 years the Expo has served to uplift our young people, continue to build bridges towards new adventures and be a learning experience that inspires hope. "Our Dreams From The Past, Inspire Hope For The Future," continues to be our mission and we are working diligently to deliver shared equity in aspects that build upon our needs and aspirations.
Black Expo is significant because it means that diversity and equality is at the forefront of everyone’s goal to share opportunity and access. Black Expo opens doors so that small business owners can share their goods, products and services with consumers, customers and clients to enhance their visibility and economic viability.
There are many new, exciting and innovative aspects to Black Expo that will make it intriguing to visitors as well. We are having our Expo composed of different key components that are customer friendly. The Education Summit is a gateway to success for parents, students, faculty and community to come together and discuss ways and means to better educate our children so they are prepared for higher learning opportunities.
Our Job Faire Pavilion brings new energy into the job market where people can find resources for careers of today and for tomorrow.
The Black Health Forum and Wellness Faire deals with mental health as well as health issued tat have a disproportionate effect on African men, woem and children; and our Business 2 Business Faire is focused on developing relationships between small businesses and larger companies and agencies so that equal access opportunities are achieved.
The Careers In Law Enforcement area is bringing jobs that are both sworn and non sworn positions so more people of color can join departments and agencies at every available level and increase the diversity within these incredible careers.
The Saving Our Children Summit will bring attention to the needs of children living in peril. We have assembled a panel of experts to help find solutions to the needs of children so we can impact their future.
Black Expo is also home to the “Small Business District,” and the “Family-Owned Business District,” where one-of-a-kind items from incredible designers and business owners will be on sale and display.
For the children we will have activities for all day fun; and we are introducing our Seniors Pavilion to support our aged community. We are also presenting the College Faire and Women In Business Networking Conference as part of the Expo weekend
With all the entertainment, information and outstanding opportunities to build diversity while closing gaps in health, wealth, business, housing and careers, we know that the Sacramento Black History Month Expo Weekend is a resource you can use to continue to expand and sustain your messaging while also creating opportunities to build our community for years to come.
