Formed by Geovanni Esparza (DJ YORUK / Mexico) and Cristóbal Arévalo (Chile), the project connects the musical energies of Mexico and Chile through a live experience built for movement, trance and dancefloor connection.
🌙 Raw percussion, hypnotic grooves and psychedelic textures merge into a sound that feels both ancestral and futuristic.
⭐️ WHY CUMBIA?
Cumbia is one of the great musical languages of Latin America.
Not necessarily because it is the most commercial genre — but because it is the most adaptable, migratory and culturally expansive. From Colombia to Mexico, Peru, Chile, Argentina and beyond, every territory has transformed cumbia into its own local expression.
Over decades, cumbia has evolved and fused with electronic music, dub, hip-hop, psychedelia and experimental sound design — creating entirely new movements and avant-garde scenes across Latin America and the global underground.
It is music constantly in motion.
MONO CANDELA is part of this new wave: a live exploration where traditional rhythms meet contemporary sonic experimentation.
