This dynamic event connects classroom learning to real-world experiences and supports standards in ELA, Social Studies, and Career & Technical Education. Perfect for students interested in media, journalism, activism, or the arts! This isn't just a field trip, it’s a powerful learning experience that combines film, discussion and action. We've designed the day to inspire youth, students, and even senior citizens we invite from SA senior centers.
🔹 Theme of the Day: ACTionVISM. Empowering attendees to embrace documentaries & historical films, be cognizant of imagery in media, engage civically, and understand their rights.

- Red Carpet Reception
- Ankh Achievement Award Ceremony (Honorees: Haile Gerima and Ava DuVerney. Special Guest Charles Burnett)
- Special screening of film: SANKOFA by Haile Gerima
- Post film onstage Interview with Honorees
- Late night Mixer @ Elsewhere-SA
🎬 DAY 3: Saturday, October 4 — 'Soul Saturday'
- Film Blocks - Showcasing Black indie films on 2 screens all day! (9 AM – 6:30) $ *(food truck on site)
- Evening: Filmmaker & Ubuntu Awards Gala. Includes: Dinner, Entertainment (8 PM – Midnight) $$
🎬 DAY 4: Sunday, October 5 — 'Sunday Glory' BEST OF SHOW Showcase
- Wrap Film Viewing Happy Hour closes out the festival
- Best-of-Fest screenings (in-person + online)
- Extended online film access for 1-week post-festivaL
