Why sketching?
Sketching is one of the most accessible and freeing forms of creativity - no pressure, no perfection. Whether you're picking up a pencil for the first time or returning to it after years, it’s a chance to slow down, express ideas visually, and enjoy the process over the outcome.
It’s equal parts mindfulness, creativity, and connection - and often, the best work comes when you’re simply having fun with it.
About the Host
Hiya! My name is Paris, and I'm a lecturer in inclusive design/researcher and designer in inclusive design at Swinburne University! I am also an artist, dabbling in all sorts of mediums like oil paints, acrylic paints and pencil sketching. I love producing abstract art, figurative art, still-life art and en plein air art! Honestly, all the art things bring lots of joy.
I'm SO excited for you to join this Sabi Sketching Session, a beginner-expert friendly sketching environment where we will be surrounded by the good vibes of Sabi Sounds, be in a safe space to explore our creativity, listening to groovy disco era beats and enjoying a classic Sabi Sounds beverage in the beautiful sun room space. The vibes will be, I'm sure, immaculate. Cannot wait to have you there!
