COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge needed to perform in the role of Medical Unit Leader (MEDL). It covers topics such as gathering information, organizing the medical unit, supervising the unit, evaluation, documentation, and demobilization. The course is targeted towards personnel desiring to be qualified as MEDL and requires current certification as an EMT or equivalent. The course includes a blended design with a self-paced online component and an in-person instructor-led training (ILT) session. Participants will also receive instruction as a trainee in the field during real -world incidents. The course evaluates student progress through skill assessments and active participation, and additional training may be provided after the class by shadowing MEDL's during actual incidents.
COST: The cost for this course is $75 for Wyoming Fire Service members. $300 for those outside of Wyoming.
