This August, Ryan will be teaching his first-ever seminar in the United Kingdom—and its at IKF Bristol.

Day 1: Intro to Edge of Reality™
Edge of Reality™ is our approach to modern knife defense—built for civilians, pressure-tested in live training environments, and rooted in honest context.
This isn’t choreography. It’s not fantasy disarms. And it’s not built around unrealistic compliance.
We’ll cover:
The realities of edged-weapon threats
Distance management and timing under pressure
Defensive structure and counteroffensive principles
Decision-making in chaotic, fast-moving scenarios
Training methods that make this material functional—not theoretical
Whether you’re new to the topic or have prior experience, this will challenge assumptions and sharpen your understanding of what’s actually viable.

Day 2: Clothes Quarters Fighting™
Clothes Quarters Fighting™ focuses on what happens when someone grabs you—your shirt, hoodie, jacket, or collar—and doesn’t let go.
This is the messy middle ground between striking and grappling. The space where most altercations actually live.
We’ll work on:
Shirt grabs and lapel controls
Using clothing as both a liability and an asset
Structural breaks and positional dominance
Integration of striking, off-balancing, and takedowns
Training methods that make close-contact work instinctive
If you train striking, grappling, or self-defense, this material connects the dots.
This Ryans first time teaching in the UK and he’s looking forward to training with a new room, new perspectives, and having new conversations.
