ABOUT Ruth Gerson:
As one of the most critically acclaimed and celebrated independent singer/songwriters of the late 90s and 2000s, Gerson has been dubbed “an underground songwriting master,” (The San Francisco Chronicle). A completely self-released recording artist, Ruth has appeared on the “The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “Extra” (NBC), PBS, Showtime, HBO and Lifetime television. She has released seven albums and recorded with Grammy Award winning producer Jim Scott (Wilco, Tedeschi Trucks, Citizen Cope), as well as Rick Chertoff (Cyndi Lauper, Joan Osborne, Sophie B. Hawkins). She has also recorded with legendary producer Don Dixon (REM, Smithereens, Marti Jones) and Dan Wise (Scissor Sisters, The Secret Machines).
Her songs have been licensed for many television and film sync placements and her voice has been heard on jingles and commercials for almost three decades. Gerson garnered extraordinary media acclaim for her live performances and recorded albums. She was a featured performer at The Newport Folk Festival, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, ARTSCAPE, CMJ and SXSW.
