Set in the early 1900s, Sholem Asch's "God of Vengeance" tells the story of a brothel owner who is determined to keep his young daughter virginal—and marriable—at all costs. But his daughter is drawn to the prostitutes he employs in the basement and soon falls in love. Asch’s groundbreaking drama is as relevant today as it was in 1907.
