——— RUSSEL HASWELL (UK)RUSSELL HASWELL is an artist, record producer, free improvisor, computer musician, noise aficionado, and curator. He was trained at Coventry School of Art, graduating in 1991. Russell’s extraordinary conceptual oeuvre resists easy summarisation, focused on the site-specific, performance and methodology of large-scale sound works, sometimes in surround. He has given solo audio presentations at major Art and Music festivals and events, in art galleries, concert halls, night clubs and rock venues in 29 countries and counting. Most recently at the Pirelli HangarBicocca and Coventry Cathedral. As a curator, he has delivered projects for PS1/MoMa, All Tomorrows Parties, Aldeburgh Music, Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary and Cafe Oto. He lives and works in Glasgow.

Recently acclaimed at London's legendary Cafe Oto on the occasion of his UK debut, MT Gemini's live AV performances offer a trance-inducing blend of raw aural intensity, circonvoluted joy and hacked nostalgia. In the past, MT Gemini has shared the bill with Nik Colk Void, Drew McDowall, Shit and Shine, Ghost Dubs, Croatian Amor and more. In 2009, The Wire Magazine named his debut album, released on legendary experimental music label Sub Rosa, one of the “10 Records of the Year” in its dub category. His next album, Hawk Deh Near, is coming up on notorious Brussels-based label Vlek on February 12.
