Award–winning editor Ruoxi Chen visits Seattle as part of Clarion West's Summer of Science Fiction & Fantasy 2024Third Place Books and Clarion West are excited to welcome Hugo Award–winning editor Ruoxi Chen to our Ravenna store for a conversation with publicist and Mark as Read columnist Molly Templeton! Chen and Templeton will be discussing Chen's work as an editor for Tor Books, amongst other publishers and publications, where she has championed work by Seth Dickinson, Emily Tesh, Nghi Vo, Tochi Onyebuchi, and Freya Marske, amongst many others. This event is free and open to the public. Bring your questions!

Ruoxi Chen is a Hugo Award-winning book editor based in New York City. She’s had the pleasure of working on books that have been shortlisted for the Ilube Nommo, Nebula, and NAACP Image Awards, and that have won the Alex, Locus, Crawford, Ignyte, Shirley Jackson, World Fantasy, Astounding, and Hugo Awards, among others.
Molly Templeton writes Mark as Read, a regular column about reading and books, for Reactor. For five years she was the arts editor for the Eugene Weekly, where she won multiple awards for criticism. She has also worked at Tin House Books and Farrar, Straus and Giroux, and was the events director for WORD Bookstores. You can find more of her work in Buzzfeed and Esquire.
