About this Event
Run Kids Run is a social impact initiative which organises fun runs for primary schools with the aim of promoting health and fitness, bringing communities together and fundraising for schools.
Since 2020, we have held various events in Islington, Camden and Newham raising over £250k for state primary schools. We mobilise each school community to fundraise for a specific improvement project and bring local corporate sponsors to support their fundraising efforts.
Our first Battersea event takes place on Sunday 23rd April 10am - 12pm at the Battersea Park Bandstand.
As this is a community event, we are inviting all primary school aged children from nursery to year 6 and their parents who want to challenge themselves to a 2k run and join our fundraising efforts to support the local state schools that are participating: Sacred Heart Primary, St Mary's Primary, Shaftesbury Park, St George's Primary, Chesterton Primary and Churchill Gardens Academy.
It will be a morning of fun and fitness with warm-ups and games, medals and snacks for all participants. The course will take runners along the central avenue to complete a 1k for nursery and reception and 2k for years 1-6. Races will be staggered to avoid congestion at the start line. Provisional timings are likely to be as follows (depending on numbers):
10am - Registration opens. Collect your running bib and wristband.
10:15am - Welcome and health and safety briefing
10:25am - Collective warm-up
10:30am - Nursery/reception 1k race (with parents)
10:45am - Years 1&2 2k race
11:00am - Years 3&4 2k race
11:15am - Years 5&6 2k race
11:30am - Event closes

To take part, simply register by purchasing a ticket for each runner. 100% of the registration fee will be passed on to the schools to improve the education experience of their pupils.
