About this Event
For 2022, the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA) NSW has updated and expanded its Quickies series of short but to the point presentations that help existing and new providers.
The ACA NSW Quickies are only 2 hours or less and held throughout the year in face-to-face, live webinar and video-on-demand formats. They are for Approved Providers, Owners, Directors and Nominated Supervisors with industry-specific information, advice, tips and even “tricks”.
Developed jointly with Design Cubicle, this ACA NSW Quickie will help you understand the planning, building, local government and other regulatory requirements in anticipation of building your new early childhood education and care centre to ensure its educational, operational and financial success.
The topics to be covered in the ACA NSW Quickies – Rules and Regulations for Building New ECEC Centres are:
• Does the NSW State Environmental Planning Policy (Educational Establishments and Child Care Facilities) 2017 (ie the SEPP) apply
• What to know about local councils’ rules about development applications (DA) for new childcare centres
• Why do the NSW Department of Education’s regulations impact on your new childcare centre
• How has COVID impacted on the processes for considering new childcare centres
• Are there potential new rules and regulations in the near future that must be considered
• Can existing and new childcare centres be future proofed as much as possible
• What other legal and regulatory requirements you should be mindful to maximise success
