Explore the hidden history of Old Harrison on this guided kayak tour. Once a thriving riverside community, the town was submerged in 1940 with the creation of Chickamauga Dam. Today, its remnants reappear at winter pool lake levels.Paddlers will kayak over and alongside old building foundations, roads, and guardrails—structures frozen in time beneath the water’s surface. This fully equipped, guided experience offers a unique opportunity to view a rarely seen piece of local history while learning about the people and events that shaped the area. As a bonus, you may even catch a glimpse of the American white pelican, which has found vacationing in the National Park City a great place to winter.
No prior paddling experience is required. Come enjoy a peaceful paddle and a fascinating journey into the past.
