Ruben Moreno, a 27-year-old Chicano-Creole artist from Houston, Texas, is a standout in the Zydeco music scene. Starting his professional career at 13, Ruben has toured extensively, playing with Zydeco legends like CJ Chenier, Leroy Thomas, and Andre Thierry. He blends Louisiana and Texas Zydeco sounds with fresh energy and innovation, captivating audiences worldwide with his melodic voice and exceptional accordion skills.

About Ruben Moreno & the Zydeco Re-Evolution
Ruben Moreno, a proud young Chicano-Creole artist from Houston, Texas, stands as a dynamic force in the Zydeco music scene. Drawing on his rich musical roots, Ruben captures both the Louisiana and Texas Zydeco sounds, infusing them with fresh energy and vision. Over the past two decades, he has mesmerized audiences worldwide with his melodic voice, exceptional rubboard and accordion skills, and innovative approach to Zydeco.
Ruben’s musical journey began in clubs at age 13. By 15, he was touring extensively, playing alongside his uncle Leroy Thomas, Grammy-nominated Zydeco artist and crowned Prince of Zydeco CJ Chenier, and his mentor Andre Thierry in the San Francisco Bay Area. His tours have taken him across North America, Central America, and Europe. As a dynamic steward of this generation of Zydeco musicians, Ruben balances a deep respect for traditional sounds and dance grooves with a bold willingness to explore new directions. He absorbs rhythmic and melodic influences from various cultures and generations, continually evolving the Zydeco genre.
