About this Event
Following on from our trio of RSA Oxford City Conversations, we are hosting a special conversation focused on creativity and social change.
This evening will feature three presentations from local RSA Fellows, followed by reflection and conversation. Drinks will be available from the bar and the event is open to RSA Fellows and friends.
The RSA has a longstanding tradition of championing creativity, design and innovation to respond to the social, political and economic challenges of our time. At this event, we will consider the power of language and empowering people to express themselves; access to literature for different people and engaging with story in transformative ways; and how technology can support inclusion.
Our presenters will be:
Pete Gardom, Founder & CEO of This Great Adventure, immersive and interactive storytelling. He is a consultant, creative technologist and producer with a background in Anthropology & Cultural Studies.
Dr Paula Byrne, Founder, Lead Practitioner & Executive Director of Re:Lit, a foundation promoting bibliotherapy: in the power of words to restore and relight the human mind. She is a published author and psychotherapist.
Dr Charlotte Ryland, Director of The Stephen Spender Trust, which brings languages to life through translation. She is Honorary Faculty Research Fellow at the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, University of Oxford.
