About this Event
It's that time of year again! The Rural Ottawa Youth Mental Health Collective will be hosting our annual Mentors of Rural Youth Summit on Saturday, November 8th from 10am-4pm at the Manotick Community Centre & Mike O'Neil Arena (Kiwanis Hall).
This is a FREE event where rural youth mentors, rural youth, parents, teachers and community leaders come together for a day of fun, interactive workshops where we learn more about rural youth mental health issues and the tools to support youth.
This year, our workshop topics include: Empathetic Programming for Neurodivergent and Neurotypical Youth (Osgoode Youth Association), Supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ Rural Youth (Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ottawa), Digital Wellness (CHEO's YouthNet/RéseauAdo), and Supporting Youth School Attendance in Rural Ottawa (Parents' Lifelines of Eastern Ontario)
This event is offered in English, with the ability to attend virtually or in person. Only participants who attend the FULL DAY IN PERSON are entitled to a complimentary lunch, an honourarium and mileage compensation. There will be light refreshments and coffee/tea in the morning for all in person attendees.
Registration ends on Thursday, November 6th at 10am.
Please note this is just an application to attend; organizations/mentors who service rural Ottawa will be prioritized for registration first. Any organization/mentors that are outside of Ottawa will be put on a waitlist and will receive a confirmation email when accepted.
