About this Event
This year’s Roxbury Russet Festival has an all-star lineup of activities for all to enjoy! From 12pm - 6pm, attendees will find:
- Crafts and activities (BINGO is back with some fun new prizes!)
- Apple picking
- Snacks and sweet apple cider from local orchards
- Local resources on farming and where to find fresh, seasonal produce in your community
- Demonstrations of cider pressing on a replica historic cider press
- Live music from a local bluegrass band (details on our performers coming soon!)
- A visit from 19th century Roxbury pear whiz Enoch Bartlett
- And more!
Most exciting, it’s all FREE to the public thanks to support from GrowBoston!
The fun doesn’t stop when the festival ends. Right at 4pm, we’ll be hosting a 21+ craft beer tasting and lecture on the unexpected link between apples and imperialism. Parents are welcome to bring their little ones -wristbands will be issued at the door for those above 21 who will be participating in the tasting. Be sure to check back here or on our Shirley-Eustis House social media accounts as we reveal the participating breweries and lecturer over the next few weeks!
Online registration for the craft beer tasting is highly encouraged, as space is limited. Use the link on this page to register for the tasting and lecture, and keep an eye out here or on our social media pages as we reveal our participating breweries and lecturer in the coming weeks!
