November has been a special month for ROUST Records Presents . . . at its home, here at Potsdam Public Library, with a rare two performances this month!In this second performance, we are excited to invite you to pull up a space on the comfy rug of a noise wash known as "aalaa", an exciting new thread emanating from your friends at the Local Service Initiative. This quartet features the intricate crochet of William Eckert on sax/electronics plus gonzo vocals; the rich colors of Casey Grev on saxophone; Claude Aldous provides a layered tapestry of percussion, and Jerod Sommerfeldt weaves guitar processed on a loom of digital/ and modular electronic effects.
Joining the vivid sounds of aa|aa are friends SsJ4weed, from Plattsburgh, and John Cage Match, from Potsdam.
The ethereal, the accessible, the attractive. SsJ4weed has become the master of his electronic rig. With samplers and synthesizers, and sometimes his voice, John W**d creates a transcendental experience. He converts the venue into a church. Some have said they have met God during his performance. Others have seen a Duende, Big Foot and so on. In other words, it is an other-worldly experience that will make you question a very deep itch that you may have buried long ago.
John Cage Match is Carter Jones and a looper trying to make you cry. Emo rock polyrhythms pumped through as much reverb as can be legally supplied in St. Lawrence County. No clean tones, no masters.
