Formed in 2022, North Country Brass was just a group of local brass musicians coming together to play a few pieces alongside Tim Zimmerman and The Kings Brass. The Kings Brass, a nationally acclaimed brass group, were booked at churches in Malone and Watertown that year.The group decided that this genre of music could be a great addition to the variety of other music being performed in the North Country. We added keyboards and percussion to group so we now compromise 11 members. Currently, under the direction of Paul Buell, we continue to practice and perform contemporary Christian and sacred Brass music from The Kings Brass, Anton Bruckner, Steven Verhelst and brass arrangements by Dan Marvin. We also play jazz and patriotic tunes.
We continue to invite Tim and The Kings Brass to the North Country in August every year as they make their swing through New York.
We are from varying faiths, beliefs and professional backgrounds, but we share the love of music and the positive effect it offers.
