We are gathering some wonderful musicians for round 3 of Songwriters in the round.Julie Stewart a Merida local moved to Merida in 2008, after living two decades in Africa, where she had a career in relief and development and as a foreign correspondent. In Merida, for work, she consults for the United Nations as an editor. For fun, she has written a musical (Marfa), short plays (Lupita Gets Deported and Other Plays), and writes original songs. She is proud of her Ohio roots, despite the fact they believe in frogmen.
As Julie is a writer and does not perform she has enlisted a couple local musicians to showcase her tunes.

Steve started playing piano at age 5 when 6 large men brought home the piano from granmma’s house. He started playing guitar in highschool.
He began writing in the 80’s and recording in the 90’s. In 2010 he built a professional studio and produced 2 CD’s. One secular and one Christian album.
These albums and other released singles can be found on all the major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple and YouTube. He continues to play in a local band in Merida as well as with local musicians in his home town of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. For the first time Steve is presenting his music in a songwriters’
