Rules and Regulations1. Certification: This is a USBC certified event, all USBC rules and regulations shall apply, and all entrants must be current adult USBC members.
2. Averages: All averages will be verified prior to the start of the tournament. Use highest 2023-24 average of 21 games or more (Bowl.com will be used to verify averages, if your average is not listed on Bowl.com, you must use a 230). If no 2023-24 season average, use highest 2024-25 average of 12 games or more. If no average, bowler shall use 230. If bowler only has a Sport average, the average shall be adjusted using the USBC Sport Conversion Chart. If a bowler has a standard average and a Sport average, the standard average shall be used. The tournament director reserves the right to rerate any bowler for any reason.
3. Handicap: Teams shall consist of three bowlers, any combination of men or women. Handicap shall be calculated using 85% of the difference in opponent’s average for both individual and team.
4. Format: All games will be head-to-head. Points will be awarded as follows: two (2) points for each individual win and four (4) points for each team win for a total of ten (10) points per game. The team with the most points after six (6) games shall be declared the winner. In the event an individual or team ties any game, points earned will be split evenly among tied bowlers and/or teams.
5. Team Line-Ups: The team bowling on the right lane will set their line-up first each game. The team on the left can match their line-up as they wish. Once the team on the right has set their line-up, it cannot be changed until the next game.
6. The entry fee is $75 per bowler, if paid before March 16, 2025. Entries paid onsite / the day of the event shall be $85 / bowler, regardless of when the rest of the team paid their portion of the entry. The breakdown will be $18 for lineage, $40 to place money, $10 to point money, $5 awards, $2 admin fee. Place money will be awarded at a ~1 in 5 ratio. Point money will be awarded at $1 per point won per team (For example, if your team wins 30 points, but does not place in the ~ top 20%, your team will earn $30 in point money). Place money and point money will be returned 100%. Online payments will not be accepted after March 12, 2025.
7. Lane Assignments and Tie Scores: For the first game, lane assignments will be a blind draw. For games 2-6, each game will be a position round with teams being re-ranked based on points won. All ties for position matches will be broken by scratch total pinfall. If still tied, the team’s high scratch game shall break the tie. If still tied, the highest individual’s game bowled shall break the tie. At the end of the event, if there is a tie for first, an additional game will be bowled to determine the winner. If there is a tie for any cash position other than first, all tied teams will split the prize money. USBC Rule 308a does not apply for this event.
8. Odd Number of Teams: In the event there are an odd number of teams, a blind team will be used. The blind team will earn points and be ranked each game according to points won. When facing the blind team, bowlers and teams must shoot their entering average minus 10 pins (Minus 30 pins for team points) or higher to win their respective points.
9. Singles Brackets, High Games, and Optional Singles: There will be optional scratch & handicap singles brackets and optional scratch & handicap singles side pot available. Optional singles will use the bowler’s six game total score and will be paid at a ratio of 1:5. Handicap for optional events will be 80% of 220.
10. Tournament Authority: The Tournament Director will have final say in all disputes, rules not covered here, or rules not covered by the USBC.
