Every year the Rotary Club of Santa Rosa East/West holds an event to raise money to support Rotary International’s goals, as well as many local charitable organizations. We not only contribute time, talent and dollars to a number of on-going programs, we also select a worthy cause to become a primary beneficiary of additional funds raised at this event.
We are pleased to announce that the primary beneficiary for this year’s fundraiser is the Safari West Wildlife Foundation (SWWF).
The SWWF funds experiences at the Safari West Wildlife Preserve through live and online programming. They strive to inspire school children by engaging them in educational opportunities through direct wildlife encounters.
The funds raised at this annual Rotary fundraiser will support the SWWF’s LIVE program. This interactive live-stream experience, scheduled in pediatric hospitals, engages the imagination of young explorers as they virtually ride along with a naturalist through the rolling hills of Safari West, sighting giraffes, cheetahs, and many more wondrous African animals. This program offers a reprieve from the patient’s long-term hospital stay and supports positive mental health while providing hope for wellness while reducing fear, anxiety, and pain.
