Phong is dedicated to making government work for the people of Alameda County by overseeing an office that generates crucial revenue for the county’s schools, public services, and infrastructure.
Phong has spearheaded innovative changes during his tenure, including implementing e-forms for greater convenience, digitizing historic property records, and securing resources to address increased staff workloads. His leadership has prioritized customer service and efficiency, benefiting Alameda County’s 14 cities and six unincorporated communities.
Phong brings a wealth of experience from his career as an attorney in real estate law, a government official, a private sector executive, and an adjunct professor. As a refugee from Vietnam who grew up in Union City and now resides in Alameda, Phong’s inspiring journey reflects resilience and commitment to service.
