The Rose Retreat is our annual perfume-making experience devoted to the world of Rosa Damascena, Bulgaria’s legendary oil-giving rose and the backbone of the country’s fragrant heritage.
Alongside Damascena, you’ll also encounter Rosa Alba — a softer, waxier white rose—giving you a fuller picture of the region’s aromatic profile.
For five fragrant days, you’ll follow the rose from field to bottle: from rose-picking through steam distillation to perfume creation. If roses are your passion, this retreat is where everything comes together.
What to Expect
👃Perfume-Making Workshops
Create rose-centred perfume compositions guided by a guest perfumer (Guest perfumer announced in February 2026)
🌸 Rose Harvest Experience
• Rose-picking of Rosa Damascena andRosa Alba - a real-time olfactory training
• Learn how climate, timing, and local tradition affect the yield
⚗️Field & Cultural Visits
• Visit an authentic rose distillery and follow the path of rose oil & rose water production
• Explore the Rose Museum in Kazanlak
• Optional visit to the key historical landmarks in the Valley of Thracian Kings
