About this Event
In this class, we will work on transmuting grief into trust and gratitude through the act of mindfully painting with acrylic paint. We will work on trusting the process of holding memories as we paint layers, starting with a water diluted wash to set the undertones of our rose and background. We will keep holding these memories as we build upon these layers for more depth and contrast. We will come to the canvas with patience for whatever comes up. We will honor our pacing and create from an open heart
The class is beginner friendly and each person will have their own rose painting to take home at the end of the class.
About Mariana
My name is Mariana Moreno-Gonzalez and I am a portrait artist specializing in memorial pet portraits. I found my passion for portrait painting when I was personally grieving the loss of my beloved pet companion, Lobo. At the time, it was very therapeutic for me to tend to his painting and process the pain of losing him so quickly. Not only did this process help me honor that special bond, but it also healed the pain I carried with art. I made a promise to myself to come to the painting with unconditional love and patience, which ultimately increased my trust in my intuition. I continue to paint in this state of flow, where I am transmuting the grief of loss into a celebration of how much love was felt and given. This reminds me how unconditionally I loved and was loved, which creates a safe space within myself to create without fear of failure. When it’s done out of love, that energy creates the masterpiece.
