Please join Lauren Arrow & the Big Effin' Sing for a big singing extravaganza with a band of incredible musicians! We’ll teach you easy-to-harmonize songs and let spirit do the rest. This is for anyone who feels the deeeeeep ecstatic JOY of singing, to the deeeeeep terrifying FEAR of singing and everyone in between! We have one life to live- let's celebrate it by using our voices in community.
Note: this is NOT a performance! Singing with all y'all is the POINT, despite whatever judgement you've placed on your voice (good/bad/etc)! We just want to sing WITH you.
0% of this evenings donation will go towards Sogrea-Te Land Trust and MECA (Middle East Children's Alliance). Tickets are a sliding scale donation of $10-$40 with a handful of low-income tickets. Thank you for giving so we can give abundantly.
We will be gathering at an amazing space in Berkeley with easy parking and accessibility and will be inside welcoming the autumnal magick. When you buy tickets, please check the option to allow us to contact you so we can send you messages!
This is going to be a very special soul-expansive evening that’s going to sell out fast! Lauren Arrow and The Big Effin' Sing is the product of a group of musical friends saying YES to spending evenings eating homemade soup and bread, sharing life stories (one minute at a time), and relishing in the delights of making music together.
The band: Nataniel Markman (fiddle, vocals, guitar), Matt Takiff (guitar, vocals, saxophone, fiddle), Callie Millington (bass), Michelle Rybka (vocals), and Carrie Staller (percussion.)
Lauren Arrow (she/her) is a queer Jewitch song-tender and facilitator in the Bay Area. After overcoming a debilitating fear around singing and sharing her voice, her life’s mission has centered around holding trauma-informed singing circles for the past 10 years, helping folks reclaim their voice and embrace their creativity through her organization, ProcessSING. Her 2016 album, “It’s Happening!” received national acclaim and can be found on all streaming platforms. Lauren facilitates intimate singing retreats, huge song festivals, and everything in between. She loves nothing more than to sing with big groups of folks so come warmed up and ready to dive in!
