Rosalind McAlpine: Preparing the Mind: The Science and Practice of Psychedelic Readiness
What does it mean to be prepared for a psychedelic experience, and does it actually matter? Dr. Ros McAlpine presents a programme of research from UCL developing tools to measure psychedelic preparedness and exploring which facets of preparation predict meaningful experiences. Midway through, the talk pauses for a short guided loving-kindness meditation — a small taste of what participants in the research actually do as part of their preparation. The session closes with findings from a randomised controlled trial testing whether structured preparation changes outcomes.
