The RoR Step into Showing Clinic provides a welcoming, educational introduction to the world of ex-racehorse showing.
Delivered in partnership with showing experts and qualified RoR judges, this clinic offers a “mock show” experience where riders can present their horses, receive feedback on turnout and ringcraft, and gain insight into what judges are looking for in RoR and affiliated classes.

You will come show ready and dressed to impress. If you are able you can plait and prepare your former racehorse, ready for the ring. If you are unsure of what to wear then please do not worry, you can just wear your regular riding attire.
Di will guide you through the RoR Showing requirements, what to do in the ring and you will have a go at a show. You will receive feedback and guidance of next steps.
You will be in groups of 4 or 5 but this may alter depending on booking, this can be in-hand or ridden but please note when booking what you would like.
Di's Bio:
Di Drysdale has been riding since the age of nine, growing up in a riding school environment with a wide variety of horses and ponies. She qualified as a BHSAI in 1983 and has experience across show jumping, eventing, dressage, and showing. Her true passion lies in showing, particularly with Thoroughbreds.
Di has owned Thoroughbreds for over 44 years and began showing ex-racehorses in 1984. She currently owns two Thoroughbreds: one aged 23 and a 9-year-old mare who retired from racing two years ago and has recently started her showing career. Di has successfully shown Thoroughbreds in hack, riding horse, and ex-racehorse classes, as well as veteran and senior classes with her older horses. Her daughter also owns two ex-racehorses who are shown, with one competing at LIHS in SSADL in-hand classes in 2024.
Di is a conformation Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) Judge, a Horse & Country Ex-Racer Senior Panel Judge, and a 2-Star SSADL (Senior Showing and Dressage Ltd) Judge. She previously served for 15 years as a senior panel judge with the Veteran Horse Society and TSR.
Alongside her equestrian career, Di works as a Personal Assistant in the NHS. Teaching and supporting fellow ex-racehorse owners is a passion, and she finds great reward in helping combinations progress, improve, and achieve their showing goals.
