CLASS DESCRIPTION:
Learn the basics of basket making in this fun and easy class. We'll be using rope to build a basket from scratch and colorful threads to fit your unique style. These baskets are great for home decor and can hold just about anything! You'll go home with 1 basket as well as additional rope and enough thread to make another one. All supplies will be provided.
About the Instructor:
Sophie Kanter is a textile artist living in Washington, DC. A native of the city, she is inspired by plants and everything nature has to offer, in addition to beautiful modern design. Her practice includes natural dyeing, embroidery, cross stitch, and much more! The best part of her art is sharing the process with others and seeing the unique creations of others. In addition to art, she also loves chocolate chip cookies and other people's dogs.
